Built on a hill, at a distance of approximately 50 km from the capital city, is the gorgeous village of Agios Georgios Kafkalou. It is a picturesque village which enchants every visitor with its natural beauties. In fact, its “tireless” age-long olive trees have been providing the residents of the village with their crops for many years.

    To visit the church of Agios Georgios, a sample of late Cypriot ecclesiastical architecture with Frankish influences, which is located in the centre of the Community.
    Also, you should take a stroll along the traditional alleys of the community and the Nature Trail where you can enjoy unique images and scents deriving from pear, nectarine, plum, apple, walnut and almond trees. Towards the east of the Community you can also see the Copper Mine of Alestos, which has remained inactive since 1972. Finally, it is worth visiting the small water dam at the location “Malas”.
