Built on the banks of river “Elias” Vyzakia is one of the most beautiful villages of the Nicosia District. The village’s unique beauty results from the pebbles transferred to the village by the river waters and according to several researches these pebbles are related to the naming of the village (the word “pebbles” translates into “Vyzatzia” in Greek).

    To visit the medieval church of Archangel Michael with the unique hagiographies painted by a popular painter, the beautiful church of Agia Aekaterini, as well as the small chapel of Agios Andronikos and Agia Athanasia. While wandering around Vyzakia you will admire several beautiful images including old Venetian watermills, a small water dam and the trim park. Should you visit Vyzakia during the winter months you will also admire several blooming almond trees.
