Xyliatos constitutes one of the most favourable destinations for the Cypriot excursionists mainly due to its water dam and the nearby excursion site. It is a Community built at a distance of approximately 50 kilometres from the capital city. One of the most beautiful images of Xyliatos is the one created by the reflection of the wild vegetation against the calm waters of the dam.

The residents of the village continue, up until today, to produce traditional bread baked in clay ovens heated by burning logs. Additionally, in Xyliatos there are still builders who are famous for their stony constructions.

    • Although there is a coffee shop in the village, you can find taverns and restaurants in the nearby village of Agia Marina Xyliatou.

  • Do not forget

    To visit the famous excursion site and to walk along the Nature Trails to enjoy the beauty of the natural scenery. Moreover, you can also visit both the chapel and the Cave of Agios Mamas. Do not miss the opportunity to look for the rocky area called ‘Ohtipetra’ where there is a rare geological formation, as well as the oldest olive tree of Cyprus which has been adorning Xyliatos for the last 800 years.
