The community of Akrotiri emerges in the southwest of the salt lake of Lemesos as a village with a rich history and a plethora of natural treasures.     To visit the historic “Monastery of Agios Nicolaos ton Gaton” which was founded in the fourth century by Saint Helen. Additionally, while strolling around the village you will get the chance to visit some of the ecclesiastical monuments of the community such as the ancient church of Agios Georgios and the remains of the small church of Agios Demetrianos. What is also worth knowing is that Akrotiri houses a lot of basketry workshops as well as a Centre of Environmental Education and Information.
